Respite
Respite care services are offered to families raising children with developmental or mental health challenges (or who are at-risk for developing such diagnoses).

Respite care offers relief to the stress of raising a child with special needs by providing paid care by another person to allow the family time away, to take care of other needs or to relax. Respite care is available up to 16 hours per month for approved families. Documentation of the child's status is required for approval and every three years afterward. Respite care is available for children up to their 19th birthday (or up to age 21 if still in school). Respite care can be provided by certified or non-certified providers. Families are responsible for locating their own providers of respite care.

Respite Care is funded by the Department of Health and Human Services.

Referrals may be made to Tracy Pushard at extension 143.
