The Children’s Center is undergoing changes! Based on internal and external surveys, changes in regulations, fee structures, and other external dynamics, the Leadership Team of the agency has created a Strategic Plan for the coming year. This plan, built upon the suggestions of internal workgroups, includes the following major action items:
Area 1: Become the Model Agency
The goal of the Children’s Center is
to become the model for the delivery of quality preschool, childcare,
and pediatric services not only in the area or the state, but the
nation, and share our growth and successes publicly.
Area 2: Community Building
We are actively working to extend our 40+ years of expertise out into our community at large, offering a broader range of parent supports, supporting other agencies and providers, and responding to local needs as they change.
Area 3: Workplace of Champions
We are working to develop our competencies at all levels of the agency, by enhanced training, employment practices, and a consistently understood and embraced philosophy around leadership by example.
Area 4: Embrace the Future
We are expanding our use of available technologies, including hardware and software, enhancing our skills through training, and improving our database functionalities.
Area 5: Cutting Edge Competency
We are refining our training and orientation practices, expanding cross training, and developing our presence as an external resource for training.
Area 6: Industry Leading Compensation and Benefits
We are reviewing our policies to retain our family-friendly atmosphere in a world with increasing emphasis on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Area 7: Draw in the Best
Our recruitment and hiring practices are evolving to assure that we hire and retain the best employees, recruit new highly invested board members, and expand our volunteer base.
Area 8: Create the Dream
We continue to develop the state’s best accessible-to-all playground and beautiful child and family friendly facility.
Area 9: Follow the Leaders
Our administration is focused on developing real-time financial status capacity and making our vision a reality: a world where communities, families and caregivers join together to create nurturing environments in which children of all abilities are embraced as unique and valued individuals.
